About the role
POSITION PURPOSE / SUMMARY STATEMENT (defines the major functions/purpose of the position):
Reporting to the Category Director, the Allocator & Associate Buyer will be responsible for procuring and allocating merchandise assortments for our Direct-to-Consumer business. Located in Toronto, the Allocator & Associate buyer will work to create the appropriate merchandise mix based on Open-to-Buy, emerging market trends, along with meeting the assortment strategies established by ASICS management. Additionally, the Allocator & Associate buyer is responsible for ensuring ASICS DTC business has the right product, in the right channels, at the right time. This encompasses planning initial allocation of inventory and channel replenishment. The allocator will need to create a strong partnership with the Category team, Ecommerce team and retail stores to ensure strategies are aligned with merchandise and financial plans.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (include titles of positions directly reporting to this position):
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Interacts with all levels throughout organization including employees and outside vendors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all allocations and weekly replenishment to the stores, maintaining monthly store level sales forecast.
- Create and maintain seasonal assortment sheets for all channels that represent the ASICS brand to the fullest; distribute and communicate changes to appropriate business partners on an ongoing basis.
- Analyzes sales on a weekly basis to help determine sales opportunities and risks. Review and validate inventory requirements; create optimal inventory and sell thru strategies.
- Manage channel and department sales curves to ensure proper size runs and quantities are sent out to stores.
- Continually collaborate with Category team to maintain channel assortments while maximizing inventory productivity.
- Create initial new store assortment plans to ensure the store meets both capacity and sales plans.
- Weekly analysis/reports, to maximize sales opportunities and limit markdown risks.
- Monitor timing of seasonal trends in stores.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong retail math knowledge
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Professional presentation and communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with varying levels of management.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data.
- Ability to manage and track purchase orders and delivery of products.
- Attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of ASICS product desired
- Previous Allocation or Store Planning preferred.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships (specifically with Retail Buying and Distribution center)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years of experience as a Allocator/Associate Buyer or related experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Experience in SAP preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
