We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Legal Administrative Assistant to join our legal team in Langley, BC. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel , you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our team of lawyers by managing file matters, preparing legal documents, and maintaining records, as well as researching and analyzing as required.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing legal administrative support to legal counsel and senior legal assistants in the delivery of legal services, including managing and preparing various legal documents.
- Preparing, modifying, renewing, and registering leases and other supplementary and related documentation as a tenant or landlord of commercial properties.
- Performing land title office and Personal Property Registry document filing searches, both online and by agent.
- Reviewing, auditing, and maintaining in-house corporate entities and in-house trademarks.
- Using knowledge of legislation, legal terminology, forms, and documents to draft various legal agreements and correspondence for review by lawyers.
- Maintaining legal systems and procedures, such as diarization, corporate, trademarks, security registration, contracts, files and litigation.
- Preparing reports at various levels on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Responding to legal enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Completing administrative duties, as required.
You have:
- A legal administrative certificate or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in a legal administrative capacity.
- Experience in real estate law, including commercial leasing and land titles.
- Experience performing online searches through provincial services, including reading and interpreting results from land titles, corporate registries, PRP, tax records, property assessments, court services, and conducting trademark NUANS searches and federal corporation lookups.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with document management systems.
- Experience in corporate/commercial law is an asset.
