Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing safe and reliable transportation services while ensuring a positive experience for all passengers. This role involves driving various types of buses, educating passengers on safety protocols, and delivering exceptional customer service. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as communication with diverse groups is essential.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, disembarking, and answering any questions they may have.
- Educate passengers on safety procedures, including the proper use of seat belts and emergency exits.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior, ensuring a comfortable environment for all riders.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist children and seniors as needed, providing additional support to ensure their safety during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding route changes or passenger needs.
- Document daily activities, including mileage, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during the shift.
Qualifications
- Valid B Category driver’s license with a 3 year clean driving record is required.
- Previous experience in commercial driving or transportation services is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse groups of people.
- Experience working with children or in senior care settings is a plus.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle is beneficial.
- Ability to write clear reports and document incidents accurately as needed.
- A commitment to safety and a passion for helping others are essential traits for this role.
