The opportunity:

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Research Manager the Research Assistant – Brain Imaging will support clinical research projects by analyzing and interpreting brain imaging data, including MRI and CT scans. The ideal candidate will have experience in neuroimaging interpretation, with a preference for individuals with a radiology background. This role will involve reviewing imaging for research studies, assisting in data extraction, and collaborating with the research team to ensure high-quality imaging assessments.

The ideal candidate is a radiologist or clinician with expertise in brain imaging and experience in neuroimaging interpretation, particularly in stroke or cerebrovascular disease. Familiarity with imaging analysis software (OsiriX, Horos, RadiAnt, FSL and SPM as well as IMPAX is considered a strong asset.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related study area.

OR

  • Completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with one year's directly related experience.
  • Radiologist or clinician with expertise in brain imaging preferred
  • Experience in neuroimaging interpretation, particularly in stroke or cerebrovascular disease.
  • Familiarity with imaging analysis software (e.g., OsiriX, Horos, RadiAnt, FSL, SPM).
  • Familiarity with IMPAX
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized imaging assessment protocols required.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines is required.
  • Training in TCPS-CORE (research ethics) and signed WRHA PHIA (pledge of confidentiality), UofM PHIA, Good Clinical Practice, and IATA Dangerous Goods training required.
  • Prior experience in a research setting is an asset but not required.
