The opportunity: Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, National Manager, the Senior Vice-President, National Administration & Advisor Onboarding will play a key role in supporting advisors to ensure their day-to-day needs are met, problems are escalated and resolved in a timely manner, and feedback is captured to drive positive change.

This role will be responsible for (1) the successful onboarding of new advisors, (2) managing the administration resources that support branches/regions, and (3) supporting the EVP, National Manager with strategic initiatives and change management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Successful onboarding of new advisors (CIRO Recruitment and M&A).

  • Lead the Transition team and ensure newly recruited advisors receive a best-in-class experience during their onboarding process.

  • Collaborate with partners across the firm to build solutions to provide a seamless experience for the advisory team and to identify and ‘own’ any issues that arise.

  • Work with Regional Managers to ensure local connectively and accountability.

  • Work with corporate partners (legal, HR, Compliance, Corporate Development, etc.) to problem-solve, navigate challenges and identify opportunities to introduce new solutions for more successful and efficient onboarding.

  • Manage the administration resources that support branches/regions.

  • Lead the regional team supporting branches and regions and develop professional standards, governance processes and policies and procedures to ensure consistency across regions and support onboarding of new offices/regions/resources within the regions.

  • Identify opportunities to create efficiencies across teams and resources.

  • Develop and maintain a structure that enables growth and scalability while maintaining flexibility of resources (during holidays, absences, high-volume transition periods, etc.).

  • Supporting the EVP, National Manager with strategic initiatives and change management.

  • Create content, models, or presentations to support strategic ideas or initiatives assigned to or created by the EVP, National Manager.

  • Support the implementation of approved projects, with consideration of the impact of change on advisory teams and corporate partners.

  • Support the EVP, National Manager with ongoing business needs, such as budgeting, goal-setting, KPI monitoring, etc.

  • Work collaboratively with peers and colleagues as a subject matter expert, change champion, or advisor advocate as needed. Key corporate partners are likely to include:

  • Regional Managers

  • CXO leaders (Marketing, Practice Management, Advanced Wealth Planning, Insurance & Group Solutions)

  • Corporate Services (Legal, Compliance, HR, Communications)

  • Operations

  • Finance

  • Capture feedback from advisors to foster a collaborative culture and share with corporate partners as needed.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with peers and advisors, including members of the executive leadership team.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Post-secondary education or training in business, office administration, Human Resources or a related field.
  • 10+ years’ financial services industry experience working directly with investment advisors, associates and administrative team members.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a leadership position.
  • Experience in operations, senior project management or other relevant experience in the Wealth Management industry.
  • Experience in a high growth, fast paced environment.
  • Past experience working directly on an advisory team, larger branch BA and/or manager of administration.
  • CIRO licensing considered an asset.
  • Leadership experience which includes goal setting, coaching and supervision of staff.
  • Exceptional leadership and time, task, and resource management skills.
  • Ability to plan for and keep track of multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with budget planning and enforcement, human resources, and customer service procedures.
  • Demonstrate a high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day to day work and long-term goals.
  • Excellent attitude and commitment to provide extraordinary service.
  • An excellent attention to detail.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and influencing skills; an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively, across multiple mediums (in-person, over the phone, and virtually).

  • Able to manage a large volume of competing priorities.

  • An ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.

Conditions of employment:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be able to travel 0-30% of the time.
