The Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives division provides strategic and integrated policy and project services and functions for Justice. The division’s focus centers on cross-divisional and cross-ministry projects such as strategic policy initiatives, business transformations and Justice Digital.
Role Responsibilities

If so, then consider leading the Modernization and IMT team within the Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives Division.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Modernization, IMT, & Research Branch, as the Director of Modernization and IMT you will be responsible for leading and directing a unit of service transformation professionals. The unit provides expertise and strategic leadership on the timing and scale of IT product modernization as well as coordination of service transformation initiatives across the ministry's divisions.
You will be accountable for:

Delivering a range of services to senior leaders to transform legacy systems into new accessible architecture.

Implement significant ministry-wide initiatives in order to make business modernization priorities a reality.

Align ministry initiatives with the broader government goals of Red Tape Reduction, IMT policy frameworks, and ministry business plans; and
-
Maintaining and building communication channels between stakeholder groups and providing ongoing updates to senior leaders on progress, risk and costs impacting priority projects.

Qualifications
Requirement:
- University degree in a Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or Public Administration or a related field.
- 7 years of experience working with IMT systems and architecture within a large organization; and
- Progressive experience leading and managing people.
Assets:
- Experience with the functioning of courts and other government systems, architecture, public policy, and legislative/regulatory development.
- Experience with procurement and contract management best practices as well as Government of Alberta requirements.
- Experience with performance measurement and information management.
- Experience with financial operations, human resource management, planning and reporting requirements.
- Experience developing materials and briefing senior executive level decision makers on complex issues.
- Experience with the Agile Scrum methodology including process mapping, organizational analysis, benefits management and risk/issue management.
The following equivalencies may be considered:
- A related Masters plus a minimum of 5 years related experience.
- A related two-year diploma plus a minimum of 9 years related experience.
- A related one-year certificate plus a minimum of 10 years related experience.
- No post-secondary education plus a minimum of 11 years related experience.

- Hours of work: 7.25 hours per day / 36.25 hours per week (Monday – Friday).
