About the role

Oatley Vigmond is Ontario's Personal Injury Law Firm and we are currently seeking an Accident Benefits Assistant to join our Barrie Office. The successful candidate will have exemplary client service skills, and possess strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving and creative thinking skills.

Job Summary

The Accident Benefits Assistants provide daily administrative support to the Accident Benefits Specialists.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Use various methods to communicate in a highly competent manner with insurance companies, treatment providers and clients

· Create and maintain new client files, using various software with proficiency and in accordance with strict guidelines

· Submit expense claim forms for clients

· Create and send various letters to insurers, clients and treatment providers

· Manage protected accounts

· Diarize denials as limitations

· Scan and route all reports from providers to applicable team members, receive and disperse all incoming faxes

· Daily scanning including urgent requests as required

· LAT responsibilities including formatting and preparing supporting documents for LAT application, issuing notice of withdrawal, processing insurer examinations and any referrals assessments

· Coordinate transportation or accommodations for assessments when needed

· Other additional duties assigned

Qualifications and Skills

Mandatory

· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining superb organizational skills, attention to detail and high level of accuracy

· Ability to deal effectively and pleasantly at all times with colleagues, clients and 3rd parties

· Strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

· Knowledge of Outlook calendar and Microsoft Office Suites with the ability to learn additional software applications with ease

· Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team oriented atmosphere

Preferred

· Minimum of 2 years experience as an Accident Benefits/Tort Legal Administrator/ Law Clerk in Personal Injury Law Firm

· Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Program or equivalent program using same skillset

· Knowledge of the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS) and the Rules of Civil Procedure

· Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
