Full-time Secretary
About the role
Northern Gateway Public Schools requires a Full-time (1.0 FTE) Secretary at Percy Baxter School, Whitecourt, Alberta.
Successful candidate responsibilities:
- Process all budget and school generated funds
- Collect and account for all school fees
- Enter and maintain data for School Cash online
- Reconcile bank statements/ Visa transactions
- Manage student records – Alberta Education, Student Information System, PASI
- Input data into PowerSchool student information program
- Prepare and order school/office supplies
- Provide general office support to the administrators and staff of the school
- Assist the administration with budget preparation
- Provide secretarial duties in the front office
- Maintain office and workroom equipment
- Any other duties as assigned by principal
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of Accounting
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and the school administration team
- Outstanding personal skills with the ability to develop relationships with co-workers, students, parents and visitors to our school
- Strong computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Publishing, Google Documents
- Knowledge of Atrieve program (Financial database, employee absence information)
- Knowledge of School Cash online program
- Knowledge of PowerSchool program
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Work independently with minimal instruction
Hours of Work:
- 35 hours per week
Tentative Start Date:
- August 25, 2025
Wage Rate:
- $19.38 - $30.95 - Dependent upon qualifications and experience
