Job Summary:

The ACA – M2 is responsible for ensuring that all aircraft maintenance is accomplished in accordance with the policies and procedures contained in the Maintenance Control Manual, Maintenance Policy Manual and in accordance with the Detailed Procedures Documents. AMEs are also responsible for ensuring all aircraft technical documents and Canadian Aviation Regulations are adhered to.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure maintenance activities are accomplished in accordance with the policies and procedures contained in the MCM, MPM, DPDs, aircraft and component maintenance manuals and Transport Canada requirements;
- Maintain an AME – M2 license and ACA qualifications, as required, on company aircraft;
- Acquire and maintain Airport Security Clearance, AVOP, Passport, and full ‘G’ Driver’s License
- Responsible for mentoring new Apprentices;
- Liaise with the Lead and MOC with regards to scheduled assigned overnight work packages;
- Ensure that all Porter technical documentation, such as maintenance releases, associated with defects or Work Packs is accomplished as per company standards prior to submission to Technical Records;
- Assist with ground support equipment (GSE) maintenance, and generate logs for any equipment that requires repair;
- Responsible to ensure the consumable materials and tooling stored in the hangar and service vehicles are maintained in a neat and tidy manner;
- Responsible for supporting AOG maintenance system wide as required;
- Assist the Lead in ensuring the hangar work areas, including all locations in hangar, office, as well as service vehicles and equipment, are kept clean in an effort to maintain a safe work environment;
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
- Utilize the SMS reporting program for any hazards or incidents that may occur.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Possession of a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 or E rating) required;
- Proven technical aptitude with at least 2 years’ experience and/or endorsed on DASH 8-Q400 and/or Embraer Regional Jets and/or equivalent type of aircraft preferred
- Full unrestricted driver’s license with a clean abstract required
- Experience working on a wide range of airframe systems such as electrical, navigation, flight controls and turbine engines
- Ability to frequently climb, kneel and crawl into tight spaces
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to obtain necessary Transport Canada security clearances and driver’s airside license within 6 months from date of hire
- Successfully complete the company background and pre-employment screening tests
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime
- Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR’s)
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to delegate effectively
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
- Working knowledge of RAAS, AMOS or other maintenance software platform, considered an asset #LI-Onsite
