About the role

The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for a Full-Time (1.00 f.t.e.) Temporary Gr. 5-8 Teacher at T. A. Norris Middle School. This position will commence on Setpember 29, 2025. The initial assignment will include teaching Language Arts and Music.

T. A. Norris Middle School is located in the town of Peace River and serves students from grades 5-8. The school offers a high quality core academic program, consisting of English, French Immersion and French Second Language and a wide range of exploratory courses which include Art, Drama, Home Economics and Band. Peace River is a town in northwest Alberta, Canada. It is along the banks of the Peace River at its confluence with the Smoky River, the Heart River and Pat's Creek. Qualifications:

  • Training and/or successful teaching experience at the upper elementary level
  • Ability to differentiate instruction.
  • A demonstrated commitment to student achievement.
  • Effective classroom management.
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Ability to coach team sport at a high school level.

This school offers French programming to its students, knowledge of the French language is considered an asset.

Requirements:

  • Must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check, dated within six (6) months of application.

Annual Salary Range: $ 62, 702 to $ 105, 996 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Peace River School Division).
