Professor Donica Belisle in the Department of History is seeking a current University of Regina undergraduate student in the Faculty of Arts to assist with the transcription of a diary written in cursive. Candidate will be required to attend monthly in person meetings on campus, as well as weekly zoom meetings. Working on their own time, candidate will be required to correct an existing typed transcription of the diary, working off the original handwritten copy. Both the typed and the original copies will be provided to the candidate.

Position Requirements

  • Candidate must be a current undergraduate student enrolled at the University of Regina in the Faculty of Arts.
  • Candidate must be familiar with MS Word and Zoom, and have access to a computer with MS Word and Zoom.
  • Punctual for meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to complete assigned work by deadline

Preference given to:

  • Honours and fourth-year students majoring in History or English
  • GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • have taken at least two History courses
  • have taken at least two literature courses
  • ability to read cursive writing
  • experience in historical research
  • experience in literary analysis
