Job Overview:

As a Key Account Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in achieving the company’s sales objectives by setting strategic action plans and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders. This role involves up to 80% travel, ensuring hands-on engagement with clients and accounts.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and grow relationships with key national and regional accounts.
  • Expand the customer base by identifying new opportunities with mainstream retailers.
  • Utilize industry tools and software (e.g., GS1, Retail Link) for product listings and data management.
  • Oversee Profit & Loss for key accounts, including planning annual trade offers and budgets.
  • Execute promotional planning, deal sheet submissions, and reconcile invoices.
  • Leverage data analytics (e.g., ACNielsen, POS data) to drive business strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments such as Quality Assurance, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.
  • Ensure optimal product visibility and inventory levels at customer sites.
  • Lead collections of receivables and maintain customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in key account management, sales, or business development, preferably in the food, consumer goods, or retail sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, national or regional key accounts, including mass merchandise and chain accounts (e.g., Walmart, Sobeys, FreshCo).
  • Experienced in using industry tools and software like GS1, Retail Link, or similar platforms.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets, managing budgets, and executing promotional campaigns.
  • Strong strategic thinking, process development, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with CRM software.
  • High level of integrity, ethical standards, and a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and adapt to change.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 80% of the job engagements are field based).

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • CPG Sales: 5 years (preferred)

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
