After proudly serving the community for over 15 years from our location inside the Sheridan Centre, we have recently opened our own independent clinic in Oakville. This new space allows us to provide a higher level of personalized eyecare to our valued patients.
Job Overview
We are a dedicated, independent eye clinic based in Oakville, committed to delivering comprehensive primary eyecare to patients of all ages. Our services center around optical dispensing, including personalized frame selection, lens measurements, and professional fitting and adjustments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform optical dispensary tasks, including frame sales, adjustments, alignments, measurements, and lens verification
- Conduct contact lens training and fittings
- Support optometrists with pre-testing and refraction procedures
- Handle administrative duties such as preparing patient charts, processing payments, OHIP and private insurance billing, and ordering contact lenses
- Manage front desk responsibilities, including in-person and phone reception, appointment reminders, and recalls
- Deliver outstanding customer service
- Assist with basic housekeeping (cleaning, vacuuming, disinfecting high-touch areas)
Compensation: $25.00/hour or more, based on experience
Requirements
- Valid License to practice Opticianry in Ontario
Preferred Experience
- Background in customer service or retail
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with medical or optical office settings (an asset, but not required)
- Adherence to clinic safety and security protocols
- Comfortable performing diagnostic tests such as Autorefractor, NCT, Visual Field, OCT, and Topography
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong focus on customer service
- Basic computer proficiency (experience with electronic medical records preferred)
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and workflows
