Reporting to the Senior Street Pricing Manager, you will be responsible to lead actuarial pricing initiatives for our Quebec personal insurance auto products. You will lead an actuarial team focusing on enabling the profitable growth of this great portfolio, balancing the technical price and the business insights from the team's analysis. You will be a trusted partner to the business collaborators to craft pricing solutions by collaborating across multiple business functions and leading discussions with different team members to ensure business objectives are aligned.

What You’ll Do
- Accountable for the overall performance and people management of an Actuarial Street Pricing team.
- Directly responsible for actuarial methods and assumptions used as well as the overall pricing of Quebec auto personal insurance.
- Lead and support rate reviews for personal insurance products. Proactively monitor trends, mix of business, and changes in operational practices that affect personal insurance performance. Effectively communicate the results of the rate reviews to all collaborators and get consensus from team members on rate proposals.
- Build regular monitoring processes. Seek improvement in existing processes and procedures to improve effectiveness and accuracy. Be forward-thinking and adapt models and techniques to changes in business requirements, product, and data structure.
- Collaborate with other regional teams to ensure that pricing decisions fit within the overall product strategy.
- Works with the Data Science team to bring to market sophisticated pricing models including dynamic market models. Drive a balanced approach between technical considerations and business objectives to ensure maximum impact. Be able to demonstrate the value of predictive analytics to non-actuaries.
- Coach junior staff members to develop their technical and personal skills. Act as a role model for the Aviva values and inspire others to follow them.
- Obtain a deep understanding of your assigned book of business in particular, and the Canadian business in general, to explain the key factors underlying the emerging experience and to provide strategic insights to collaborators
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Math or Statistics or other related subjects.
- Minimum ACAS/ACIA, FCAS/FCIA is preferred.
- 5+ years of personal insurance pricing experience or 7+ years of P&C actuarial experience.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop a team.
- Proven ability to manage and complete projects with facility to multitask and prioritize.
- Strong problem-solving and outstanding analytical skills with an insatiable desire to probe, question, validate and challenge to ensure accurate and insightful analysis.
- Entrepreneurial and motivated spirit, with the ability to understand business requirements and turn them into actuarial analysis (and vice-versa).
- Effective negotiation skills with the ability to build consensus and influence effectively.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Hands-on as well as managerial experience in scripting/coding, including in Python and SAS.
