About the role

360°kids has been a leader in the delivery of innovative support services for over 30 years as we work to improve the lives of homeless and at-risk youth and families in York Region. We are a vitally important community agency serving all of York Region. At 360°kids, we provide a unique continuum of care approach with a range of programs and services that are essential to the health and well-being of youth and that are proven strategies for helping to keep youth off the streets by providing safe housing options.

The Program Developer will transform high-level program goals into actionable, day-to-day activities. This role will be responsible for fleshing out program frameworks and developing practical, implementable plans that advance equity, support life skill development, and are grounded in trauma-informed and evidence-based or promising practices.

The Program Developer will work closely with internal teams and community stakeholders to design daily routines, activities, and curriculum elements that are adaptable and inclusive. The goal is to build programs that are easy to implement, scalable, and responsive to participant needs.

Key responsibilities

  • In collaboration with programs leadership, develop structured program plans that align with diverse populations and organizational goals and values
  • Design inclusive programs that honor cultural identities and are trauma-informed and rooted in evidence-based or promising practices.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and frontline staff to ensure plans are practical and responsive to youth needs.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps and opportunities in current programming delivery models
  • Consider sustainability when developing programs and initiatives to ensure long-term effectiveness and resources
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapeutic programming into existing services
  • Foster partnerships with community organizations, service providers, and subject matter experts to enhance programming offerings
  • Translate program concepts into executable templates, workflows, and toolkits for broader use.
  • Ensure programming aligns with licensing, regulatory, and funding requirements
  • Train and support Managers with implementation tools, ensuring fidelity to program models
  • Develop and deliver training and support for staff to ensure consistent and effective programming delivery
  • Support the development of evaluation frameworks in collaboration with the Research and Evaluation Manager to monitor and evaluate programming outcomes using qualitative and quantitative data
  • Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations for internal stakeholders and external funders or partner

Education and Skills

  • Degree or diploma in Social Work, Child and Youth Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with marginalized or at-risk youth
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification and Current Broad Record Check (criminal background check).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Strong understanding of systemic issues impacting youth at risk of and experiencing homelessness
  • Experience in the development of therapeutic programming for marginalized youth and/or youth transitioning from Child Welfare
  • Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships with leadership, staff, youth, community partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, innovation, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant community resources, supports, and referral processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Shift timings: Monday to Friday; 10-6 with flexibility
