About The Role We're looking for ATB's next Lead Business Analyst to join our Planning, Assurance, Insights & Delivery (PLAID) team. As the Lead Business Analyst, you'll be pivotal in driving Enterprise projects forward through our Initiative Management Office's SDLC framework. You'll lead the business analysis efforts for projects, including researching and analyzing improvement opportunities, gathering and documenting requirements, performing gap analysis, and preparing recommendations. You'll also collaborate closely with stakeholders and project teams to ensure successful delivery. As an experienced BA, you'll be a leader on the BA team to mentor other BAs and help drive our BA Practice forward. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and exceptional business analysis capabilities to this role.

Accountabilities

  • Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and surveys.
  • Analyze business requirements to identify pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct gap analysis to assess the differences between the current state and the desired state of the system, highlighting areas for enhancement.
  • Work closely with technical teams (Product Managers, User Experience, Architect, Developers, Testers) to ensure accurate and efficient implementation of product features.
  • Develop use cases and user stories to capture the functional requirements of the system, ensuring that all user needs are met.
  • Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Facilitate backlog grooming and refinement sessions to ensure user stories are well-defined, estimated, and ready for development.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and technical requirements for system implementation.
  • Create data models and process flows to document business processes.
  • Identify and document non-functional requirements, such as performance, security, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive requirements traceability matrix to ensure that all requirements are accounted for and tracked throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Guide and actively participate in UAT to validate that the system meets the business requirements and user expectations.
  • Mentor other BAs on best-in-class business analyst methodologies and approaches.
  • Help lead the BA Practice on standards implementation, best practices training, and project artifact reviews with peers.
  • Lead other BAs on projects to ensure high-quality deliverables and successful outcomes as required.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of business analysis principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Manage and negotiate complex stakeholder needs, expectations, and priorities, resolving conflicts to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Experience documenting complex technical APIs, system integrations, and data flows.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential risks and challenges proactively.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments.
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Proficiency in requirements management and documentation tools (e.g., Jira and Confluence).

The Following Are Considered Assets

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field.
  • IIBA certification (AAC, ECBA, CCBA, CBAP) .
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, preferably in the banking industry or with a Fintech.
  • Experience or understanding of SAP and ServiceNow.
  • Understanding of Product Management.
  • Understanding of Organizational Change Management.
