1 ‑ Temporary Part Time (.5) – Personal Support Worker
3A Surgical Inpatient Unit
It is a condition of this posting that your home unit can accommodate your temporary absence in the event
you are successful.
This position will involve working the day, weekend shifts. The shift is not to be interpreted as a guarantee.
Reporting to the Manager of Surgical Services, the Personal Support Worker performs a variety of tasks that
enhance the overall functioning of the nursing unit and the delivery of patient care. As part of a multidisciplinary
health care team, you will practice within the Philosophy of patient and family centered care, mission vision, values
and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Qualifications:
* Personal Support Worker certificate
* HealthCare Aide certificate with previous experience
* Membership in the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association preferred
* Current certification in CPR
* Patient care experience preferably in an acute care setting
* Good organizational skills.
* Excellent customer service skills
* Knowledge of infection control and isolation practices
* Ability to work well as a member of a health care team
* Ability to perform physical activity for periods of time
* Ability to follow directions, policies and procedures
Salary Range: $29.286 to 29.930
