Our Howe Sound Mill, located on the Sunshine Coast, BC is seeking talent to fill the position of Operations Maintenance Coordinator.
Reporting to the Power & Recovery Manager, the OMC is responsible for the coordination between operations and maintenance departments. The OMC manages and communicates operational priorities to maintenance team on daily and weekly basis within the Power and Recovery department. The successful candidate must be able to manage priorities, define problems that require maintenance repair, and engage the proper resources to develop a safe, effective and efficient maintenance schedule that results in minimum downtime, maximum productivity and reliability.
Responsibilities:
• Screen and validate all new notifications from area on a daily basis, at minimum (business days only)
• Coordinates inputs from operations, facilities, reliability, environment and maintenance teams to define Daily and Weekly Maintenance Schedule through weekly scheduling meetings
• Daily coordination of operations, maintenance, facilities and contractors for complex maintenance jobs
• Communicates changes to weekly and daily schedules to Shift Engineer and other Operations personnel through daily direction setting meeting as required
• Coordinates the revision of the daily and weekly maintenance schedule when break-ins and emergency work orders arise
• Identifies and communicates the need for contractors to address emergency and break-in jobs, and escalates need to maintenance superintendent
• Owns and manages departmental maintenance work backlog through:
- Setting maintenance priorities for the Power and Recovery Area using the RIME matrix to ensure prioritisation compliance
- Coordinate with procurement, facilities, engineering, reliability, and other departments as required
- Weekly Planning meeting to define maintenance work required, and assign planning priorities, consistent with the goals and objectives of the Power & Recovery Department.
- Review planned jobs to confirm adherence to job scope and departmental priorities
- Collaborating with Maintenance Supervisor, defines list of "Opportunity" work.
• Responsible for coordination of production equipment availability. (Ensures equipment is locked out, cleaned up and ready for maintenance)
• Prepare and review the preliminary maintenance shut schedule(s) with the Shutdown Coordinator and Planners as needed. Helps establish priorities, critical jobs and appropriate timeframes.
• Produces and distributes an Operations "time line" in conjunction with that received from Maintenance
• Develop lockouts when required
• Assemble confined space entry packages to include required Hazard Assessment, Ventilation Plan, Safe Work Procedure, Entry Permit and Rescue Plan.
Qualifications:
• Ideally, 5+ years of power and recovery industry and/or maintenance experience, that would include some combination of strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.
• Supervisory experience working in a unionized environment preferred
• Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coach, teach, and manage people.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills (technical and other).
• Ability to plan, organize, execute and works to specific goals and objectives
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, change and adapt to new situations
Compensation & Benefits:
• $100,000 - $130,000CAD per annum (Actual salary offer will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
