Testing Centre Technical and Administration Support (Temporary Part Time: June 2025 - March 2026)

Status: Temporary Part Time (June 2025 - March 2026)

Hours: Up to 24 hours/week

Home Campus: Fennell (fully on-site)

Rate of Pay: $21.58 per hour, plus 4% in lieu of vacation

Under the direction of the Manager of Testing Centres, as a professional staff member, the Testing Centre Technical and Administration Support provides technical and test administration support to the Testing Offices as well as oversees the organization and management of the testing rooms at Mohawk Testing Centres. This position deals with students, staff and faculty, and requires the incumbent to use tact and diplomacy in carrying out his or her day-to-day activities. The duties associated with this position will involve considerable exposure to confidential records and student information. Responsibilities also include providing technical support to staff and students while booking and testing, overseeing proctoring and administering tests to groups, learners, applicants and students while ensuring an appropriate atmosphere for testing. The support staff is also responsible for following Mohawk Testing Centre’s testing policy as required by faculty and staff.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Troubleshooting various technical problems that occur with virtual testing, software programs and computers in and by the Mohawk Testing Centre for both staff and students. Development of systems and process to resolve these technical problems.
  • Overseeing the Testing Room when proctoring assessments and tests to ensure academic honesty, maintain a secure atmosphere for testing, and maintain confidentiality and security of all test materials and other test documents.
  • Ensure the fair and proper conduct in the testing environment that enables a student to perform at their best.
  • Office duties such as preparing documentation, setting up computers, maintaining testing area, inquiries from students and faculty.
  • Proctor and oversee proctoring of tests for applicants, students or external individual in either a virtual or in-person setting.
  • Inputting data into and maintaining various systems including custom databases, in accordance with the established procedures to ensure data is easily accessible and retrievable; Scheduling and confirming appointments, inputting and updating daily statistics.
  • Assisting with the preparation, administration and completing follow-up procedures for: accommodated testing, missed and makeup testing, pre and post admission assessments.

Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 3-year diploma/degree in Computer Science, or a related field of study.
  • 2 years of experience working in an office, working with students with disabilities, and providing technical support.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
