The Theoretical Biology Group at the Institute of Integrative Biology, ETH Zurich, is seeking applications for a postdoctoral position focused on infectious disease dynamics, with an emphasis on mathematical modelling. The successful candidate will join a collaborative research environment co-supervised by Professors Sebastian Bonhoeffer and Roland Regoes. The anticipated start date is fall 2025 or later.
Applicants will have the opportunity to develop an independent research agenda within the broader field of infectious disease dynamics, working with a team that investigates the population dynamics and evolution of infectious pathogens in both laboratory and theoretical settings. The position also offers the possibility to co-supervise graduate students and participate in teaching activities.
Requirements – Doctoral degree in biology, computational biology, applied mathematics, physics, or a related field
– Demonstrated experience in infectious disease modelling, quantitative biology, or similar disciplines
– Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, Matlab, or Mathematica
– Experience with data analysis and parameter inference methods is advantageous
– Teaching experience and interest in infectious disease dynamics education is desirable
– High scientific independence and excellent communication skills
– Proactive and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
