Responsibilities
- Electricians will plan, lay-out, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures.
- Plans of new or modified installations will minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring consistent with specifications and electrical codes.
- Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes and specifications.
- Plan, lay-out, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures.
- Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with codes and specifications.
- Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Demonstrates awareness of and follows all Food Safety/ GMP policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Accountability and dependability
- Ability to enforce and follow laws, rules and regulations
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Creative and innovative thinking
- 3-5 years experience required
- Completion of grade 12
- Completion of a 4 year apprenticeship program
- Government skilled trade certification
- Knowledge of PLC, DC/AC drives, installation and trouble shooting.
