The School of University Arts and Sciences seeks a Biology instructor to teach one section of BIOL 60 (Biology – Provincial Level) in the Fall 2025 semester at the Castlegar campus. The successful candidate will also provide individualized instruction for students at all upgrading levels and subjects, as required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to Academic Upgrading students in Biology at the Provincial (ABE grade 12) level
- Deliver instructional support for students taking upgrading courses (biology, chemistry, physics, English, mathematics, computer studies, social studies, college success) or post-secondary courses in the Learning Commons
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment
- Provide constructive and meaningful feedback to students
- Evaluate student progress and achievement
- Ensure the alignment of course outcomes, assessments, and evaluation
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- A commitment to student success
- Ability to engage students with diverse backgrounds and academic abilities
- Familiarity with authentic assessment and place-based learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report including the Calls to Action is an asset
Education and Experience
- A BSc. degree in Biology or closely related field
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience
- Experience with Moodle Learning Management System
This is a short-term, part-time (37%) position, commencing August 18, 2025, and ending December 19, 2025, with the possibility of extension**. Salary and Benefits are in accordance with the SCFA Collective Agreement. The salary range is $2,709.12 - $4,341.23 bi-weekly (at 100% appointment) and is based on qualifications and experience.**
