Location: Waldheim (24 hrs/week, Wed-Fri) as Small Depot Supervisor, with option for additional 16 hrs/week in Martensville as Assistant Depot Supervisor
Type: Permanent, Part-Time (with option for Full-Time by including hours in Martensville)
Minimum Experience: Grade 12 Diploma and 2-3 years’ experience

In a Supervisory Position at SARCAN, your day may include:
-
Coaching, scheduling, communications, safety, maintenance and documentation of personnel files, training and well-being of the staff.
-
Preparing and presenting performance evaluations.
-
Assisting in the recruitment process and recommends candidates for hire.
-
Becoming the biggest recycling expert among all of your family and friends
-
Ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed for depot operations.
-
Ensuring and/or providing good customer relations including proper handling of customer complaints, inquiries and public tours.
-
Ensuring building and equipment upkeep and maintenance (may include small repairs).
-
Ensuring all depot forms, reports and accounting is completed accurately and within established timelines.
-
Ensuring proper OH&S policies and procedures are being followed.
-
Ensuring that proper cash control and handling procedures are adhered to.
-
Performing all tasks within the depot, from customer service, counting containers for deposit refund and operating the Point of Sale system or tills to preparing containers for shipping and loading product onto trailers for transport.

Providing external communications.

Attending training and workshops and performing others tasks as required.
What are the skills you must have to perform this role?

Possess good communication, both written and verbal

Display amazing customer service skills

Have the ability to do physical work

Be dependable and reliable

Grade 12 diploma, and two to three years related experience, is required.

Working knowledge of OH&S regulations in an industrial setting is essential.

Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.

Portray a high level of professionalism.

Be committed to teamwork and meeting team goals.
-
Be flexible and willing to change priorities and deadlines.

Be able to work effectively with persons with all abilities.

Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Must provide a satisfactory criminal record check as a condition of employment

About SARCAN Recycling
SARCAN Recycling provides environmental protection, employment creation and economic development. We are Saskatchewan's tried and true recycling service for beverage containers, paint and electronics.
When you bring your beverage containers to SARCAN, you receive the full deposit refunds that were paid on the containers at the time of purchase. The SARCAN deposit recycling system for beverage containers is one of the most efficient and effective in North America! The program's success comes from the support of the people of Saskatchewan and the dedication of SARCAN employees - people with all abilities who are committed to protecting our environment.
SARCAN is a division of SARC, a provincial association of community-based organizations that provide services and supports to people experiencing disability. Many SARC Members directly operate the SARCAN depots in their communities.
