About the role

Foothills School Division is currently seeking a dedicated and organized Secretary to join the team at Highwood High School. Reporting to the Principal, this role is central to creating a safe, caring, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will provide a wide range of administrative and office support services that ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school.

As the first point of contact for the school, the Secretary will interact with a diverse community and play a key role in supporting day-to-day activities. This position also involves collaboration with other departments across the Division, contributing to broader administrative initiatives.

Education & Technical Skills

  • Post-secondary certificate in office administration or a combination of relevant training and experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, email, and web-based applications.
  • Experience with school division information systems is considered an asset.

This part-time position follows the 10-month school calendar for 17.5 hours per week and is scheduled in the mornings.

Foothills School Division (FSD) serves the learning needs of approximately 8,200 students in junior kindergarten (pre-kindergarten) through grade 12, and employs more than 900 teachers and support staff who are focused on our common goal of “Improving Learning for ALL Students.”

Located on the City of Calgary’s southern border within the Municipal District of Foothills, the Division encompasses the Towns of Okotoks, High River, Black Diamond and Turner Valley as well as the communities served by our Blackie, Cayley, Heritage Heights (DeWinton), Longview, Millarville and Red Deer Lake (south Calgary) schools.
