Full time Family Practice available in this well established office within the very desirable community of Shawnigan Lake. We are seeking a candidate to replace a physician serving the community for 30 years who has a very robust panel of 1700 patients. As such, it would be best suited to someone who wants to lay down some roots and be part of a wonderful community in the long term. The clinic has six family physicians and locum support is readily available. The patient panel includes a wide variety of ages requiring family practice care and the physicians are supported by great staff in a relaxed and collegial environment. Clinic has a treatment room for hands-on procedures. Further, a consultant Pediatrician is in the office weekly.

The office has EMR and runs Med Access. A Med Access license will be required. Hospital work is not required and is optional.

We are a collegial group of Family Physicians who strive to provide excellent care to our patients. Supported by an outstanding team, we are committed to providing evidence based, patient centered, comprehensive medical and preventative care to our community.

Overhead:

  • Split: 70/30 Direct Care Billings, 100/0 Indirect Care Billings & 100/0 Patient Panel

Benefits:

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

  • Recruitment Incentive: $10,000 (pro-rated for full-time)
  • Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
  • Fee Premium: 4.20%
  • Annual Flat Fee: $6,508.80
  • Rural CME: starting at $2,200/annum in year 3 & 4 to a maximum of $4,400.00/annum after 4 years.

Community Information:

This beautiful medical practice, located approximately 35 minutes north of Victoria, is situated just steps away from Shawnigan Lake; a very scenic growing community that is part of the South Cowichan Valley. It is called the “Warmland” for a reason and boasts the best climate in the country. This area, close to both the lake and ocean, has a wide variety of attractions for outdoor enthusiasts including great hiking and biking trails, golfing, sailing, canoeing and kayaking. In addition to many local artisans, there are also a number of local wineries and other attractions.
