About the Company?
Our client is an insurance company. They are looking for a who will be responsible for overseeing month-end duties, including financial reporting and analysis, along with audit support and internal controls, overseeing A/P & A/R and any ad hoc as required. The Assistant Controller will oversee 2-3 direct reports, which will be determined upon selection of a successful candidate.

About the Opportunity?
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Prepare monthly variance and trend analyses.
- Support budget preparation and forecasting processes.
General Ledger and Account Reconciliation
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Review posted journal entries for reasonability.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
Compliance and Internal Controls
- Ensure financial practices comply with internal policies and external regulations.
- Assist with maintenance and documentation of internal controls and procedures.
Accounts Payable/Receivable Support
- Oversee AP/AR processes, providing guidance where necessary on invoice processing, payments, and collections.
- Oversee reconciliation of vendor and customer accounts.
Audit Support
- Prepare schedules and audit working papers as needed.
- Respond to auditor inquiries and assist with implementation of audit recommendations.
System and Process Improvement
- Assist with implementation and upgrades of accounting software and systems.
- Identify and recommend improvements to accounting procedures and workflows.
- Complete special projects or analysis assigned.
About You?
- CPA, CFE passed
- 3 or more years experience as a senior accountant, senior financial analyst style roles or 1 year experience as an assistant controller.
- People management skills
Salary Range?
$90,000 - $100,000/year
