Food Runner/ Host/Hostess
Job Title: Food Runner
Location: Valley Ridge Golf Course
Reports To: Restaurant or Shift Manager
Summary:
Your job is to ensure that food is delivered promptly and accurately from the kitchen to the guests, whether they're dining in the restaurant, on the patio, or grabbing a quick bite after a round. You support servers and help maintain a smooth flow between the kitchen and the front-of-house, contributing to a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver food orders to guests at tables, outdoor seating areas, or pickup stations.
- Ensure food is properly plated and matches the ticket before delivering.
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and service staff to ensure fast, accurate service.
- Help clear and reset tables quickly during busy periods.
- Assist servers with guest needs (water refills, condiments, to-go boxes, etc.).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the food service area.
- Help restock supplies such as napkins, silverware, and to-go containers.
Qualifications:
- Friendly and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, casual environment.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Physically able to lift trays, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Prior restaurant or food service experience is helpful but not required.
Host:
Summary:
The Host/Hostess serves as the first and last point of contact for guests at the public golf course restaurant. This role involves welcoming guests, managing seating, and coordinating the flow of service in a friendly, efficient way. A positive and professional attitude helps set the tone for the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests as they arrive and thank them as they leave.
- Manage the waitlist and seating chart to keep the dining room running smoothly.
- Communicate table availability and estimated wait times to guests.
- Answer phone calls related to hours, reservations, and general questions.
- Assist with takeout orders or direct golfers to the bar or quick-service areas.
- Maintain a tidy host stand and entry area.
- Support the team by helping during busy times or special events.
Qualifications:
- Outgoing, professional, and customer-service-focused.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Experience with restaurant or hospitality work is a plus, but not required.
- Comfortable working in a casual, fast-moving environment, including outdoors in warm weather.
