About the role
Thousands of people rely on hospital infrastructure that works exactly as intended, especially when it comes to life safety. As the Supervisor, Security System & Fire Safety, you’ll have oversight of how fire prevention, security technology, and compliance come together to keep complex hospital environments running. Your work will influence how safety is embedded in our spaces through systems designed to perform reliably and adapt as needs evolve. It’s a chance to shape how infrastructure supports care.
Is this you?
You stay focused in moments that demand clear thinking and immediate action. Whether an alarm sounds, a code is called, or a system flags a failure, you approach each situation with critical thinking and control. That steadiness helps prevent confusion, reduce risk, and bring order to moments where timing matters most. In environments where every second matters, your ability to assess quickly, act decisively, and stay composed under pressure helps ensure a safe environment for everyone.
Are you someone who is inquisitive and technologically savvy? You bring both technical fluency and an analytical approach, always looking to deepen your understanding and refine how systems perform. From reviewing drawings to addressing security system issues, you use these strengths to improve safety. This mindset allows you to anticipate possible scenarios and make confident, independent decisions.
If you lead with purpose and precision, this environment will require you to apply both. Whether assisting with the interpretations of codes, coordinating with Toronto Fire Services, or responding to a Code Green, you bring a confident presence that keeps others grounded. Whatever the task, you take pride in your guidance being understandable and accessible across teams. This consistency gives others the focus they need to act with confidence and stay aligned.
In this role you will:

- Review and identify amendments to the Fire Safety Plan and evaluate hazardous practices
- Maintain fire safety documents and monitor Fire Safety Code compliance
- Review existing spaces and provide recommendations on security improvement based on Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles
- Ensure project is completed engaging with key stakeholders from start to finish
