We are looking for an Echo Technologist to work with our Diagnostic Imaging Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.

Position Responsibilities:

With guidance from the Cardiologist, the Program Manager and the Senior Technologist, the Echocardiography Technologist will use sonography equipment to produce two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of the heart and related structures that physicians use in coronary study and diagnosis of heart disease.

  • Performs diagnostic cardiac sonography procedures using independent judgement to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
  • Evaluate, collate and provide impression of exams.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety and Infection Control policies.
  • Assume responsibility for the safety and physical comfort of patients while in their care.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Use accessory devices in an appropriate and safe manner.
  • Assist with orientation of new staff and instruction of students if the opportunity arises.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of procedures in Meditech and PACS.
  • Maintain efficient and effective work practices
  • Provide QC as required.
  • Participates in patient safety initiatives and takes action to address unsafe conditions and procedures to ensure a healthy and safe environment.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with the Canadian Society of Echocardiography (CSE) or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)

  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to communicate with a high level of professionalism in interpersonal relations

  • Ability to prioritize, work well under pressure and show flexibility

  • Must have independent decision-making skills using a high level of initiative

  • Capable of coping in a physical and demanding work environment

  • Able to function independently and a member of an interdisciplinary team

  • Proven good attendance record

  • Current BCLS at the Health Care Provider level

Hiring Salary Range: $36.84-$51.77
