GENERAL MANDATE
Would you like to get involved in your community, work in a dynamic environment, and provide quality service to residents? Join our team as an instructor overseeing various sports activities throughout the Town of Mount Royal.
TASKS TO BE PERFORMED (depending on assignment)
Free Skating – Arena
Work location: TMR Arena, 1050 Dunkirk Road, Mount Royal
- Welcome users and check their recreation cards
- Collect payments from guests and non-members
- Maintain constant supervision to prevent injuries
- Ensure user safety on the ice
- Answer public inquiries courteously
- Enforce rules and regulations
- Complete required reports
- Use necessary computer tools
- Wear a helmet and neck guard (mandatory)
Outdoor Rinks – Connaught and Mohawk Parks
Work locations: Connaught Park – 350 Lombard Avenue, Mount Royal and Mohawk Park – 200 Glengarry Avenue, Mount Royal
- Monitor outdoor skating rinks
- Enforce safety and usage rules
- Intervene with users as needed
- Provide first aid if necessary
- Write incident or observation reports
- Use office tools as needed
- Wear a helmet (mandatory)
Badminton and Pickleball – Pierre-Laporte Sports Complex
Work location: 3700 Duchastel Avenue, Mount Royal
- Welcome participants and check registration
- Set up and dismantle nets and posts according to the schedule
- Supervise courts during activities
- Respond to public inquiries
- Enforce rules and regulations
- Provide first aid if necessary
- Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Punctuality
- Ability to work with the public
- Wearing the uniform provided by the Town (mandatory)
- Team spirit, autonomy, and sense of responsibility
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- A valid First Aid and CPR certificate is required for outdoor rinks and badminton/pickleball, and is considered an asset for free skating.
- Wearing a helmet is mandatory for free skating and outdoor rinks.
- Wearing a neck guard is required for free skating.
- Skating ability is mandatory for free skating and essential for outdoor rinks.
- The ability to install and dismantle nets is required for badminton and pickleball.
WORK SCHEDULE (depending on assignment – exact schedule to be confirmed)
Free Skating – Arena
- Tuesday: 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Sunday: 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
***Employment period:***From September 17, 2025, to March 30, 2026
Outdoor Rinks – Connaught and Mohawk Parks
- Monday to Friday: 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
***Employment period:***From December 2, 2025, to March 2, 2026 (depending on weather conditions)
Badminton and Pickleball – Pierre-Laporte School
- Monday: 7:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Thursday: 7:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Sunday: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
***Employment period:***From September 16, 2025, to May 11, 2026
