ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a health related field.

  • Regulated health professional with current membership in good standing with respective college.

  • Current BCLS,

  • ACLS preferred

  • Minimum of two years nursing or healthcare experience in a leadership role in an acute care

hospital setting. Must have at least one year experience in:

  • Bed management patient flow experience

  • Leadership and/or supervision of staff

  • Satisfactory attendance

  • Knowledge of Patient and Family-Centred Philosophy
  • Knowledge of Patient Care Delivery Philosophy
  • In-depth knowledge of wait time performance indicators
  • Knowledge of patient flow, bed management and IPAC practices
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bed Management applications
  • Knowledge of relevant legal/regulatory guidelines and legislation
  • Demonstrates strong participatory leadership, team building, and highly developed organizational skills
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills and ability to conceptualize and analyze problems, make critical decisions and work without supervision in a dynamic fashion in order to meet hospital needs
  • Demonstrates effective abilities to apply oral/written communication skills, including demonstration of strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated behaviors of CKHA core values in the application of Service Excellence and Patient and Family Centered Care philosophy.
  • Demonstrated participation in building of a just culture of safety and partnering with each other to improve the safety of patient care processes and systems.
