ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)

Undergraduate degree or diploma in a health related field.

Regulated health professional with current membership in good standing with respective college.

Current BCLS,
-
ACLS preferred
-
Minimum of two years nursing or healthcare experience in a leadership role in an acute care
hospital setting. Must have at least one year experience in:
-
Bed management patient flow experience
-
Leadership and/or supervision of staff
-
Satisfactory attendance
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES (Personal Skills and Attributes)
- Knowledge of Patient and Family-Centred Philosophy
- Knowledge of Patient Care Delivery Philosophy
- In-depth knowledge of wait time performance indicators
- Knowledge of patient flow, bed management and IPAC practices
- Working knowledge of computer applications including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bed Management applications
- Knowledge of relevant legal/regulatory guidelines and legislation
- Demonstrates strong participatory leadership, team building, and highly developed organizational skills
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and ability to conceptualize and analyze problems, make critical decisions and work without supervision in a dynamic fashion in order to meet hospital needs
- Demonstrates effective abilities to apply oral/written communication skills, including demonstration of strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated behaviors of CKHA core values in the application of Service Excellence and Patient and Family Centered Care philosophy.
- Demonstrated participation in building of a just culture of safety and partnering with each other to improve the safety of patient care processes and systems.
