POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a hands-on leader with strong electrical and high-voltage systems experience to guide and support the Electrical Cell. This role is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality work in line with production schedules and technical requirements. You’ll blend technical expertise with team leadership to support testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of complex electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Lead and coach a team of electrical technicians, supporting productivity, conduct, and first-time quality standards.
- Ensure adherence to the build schedule through planning, station coordination, and resource alignment (e.g., overtime, cross-training).
- Conduct functional tests on propulsion systems, communication networks, and electrical components.
- Support and lead troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of high-voltage and control systems using schematics, diagrams, and PLC programming.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments and act as a liaison between production and support teams.
- Communicate issues clearly during commissioning and testing, ensuring detailed documentation in tools like Microsoft Office and internal systems.
- Maintain and support lean manufacturing practices, including 5S audits and process improvements.
- Ensure team compliance with safety protocols, especially related to high-voltage systems.
- Provide technical training and mentorship on schematics, safe work practices, diagnostics, and programming fundamentals.
- Support and enforce HR and labor policies, including the Collective Bargaining Agreement and grievance processes.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL:
- 3–5 years of electrical systems experience, preferably in a high-voltage or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
- Understanding of AC/DC systems, high-voltage safety protocols, and PLC programming (ladder logic).
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience with CAN networks, J1939 protocols, and systems from vendors like Parker/Vansco, Cummins, Allison, or Wabco (assets).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Lean manufacturing knowledge and strong organizational habits.
- Proficiency in using digital electrical measuring tools and documentation software.
