THE OPPORTUNITY

BBE International is a leading provider of logistics and customs brokerage services, helping clients navigate complex cross-border regulations and streamline their supply chain operations. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Customs Broker to join our dynamic team in Edmonton.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and process custom documentation for the import/export of goods.

  • Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) code

  • Communicate with clients regarding shipment status and documentation requirements

  • Liaise with CBSA and other government agencies to resolve issues and ensure compliance

  • Maintain current knowledge of customs regulations and industry practices

  • Ensure timely release of shipments and assist in minimizing delays and penalties

  • Assist in audits and maintain accurate records for all customs transactions.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

CORPORATE COMPLIANCE DUTIES

  • Actively participate in QHSETR programs and systems.
  • Contribute to and foster transparent, direct communication, education, and customer service enhancement with the operations team and clients.
  • Ensure that file details and supporting documentation facilitate efficient handovers to Operations and Accounting.
  • Contribute to BBE’s continuous improvement and organizational efficiency goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed Customs Broker (preferred or in progress).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding.
  • Strong knowledge of CBSA regulations and import/export compliance.
  • Proficiency with customs software (e.g., Cargo Wise) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English. A second language is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
