Animal Care Attendant, Referral Services
Location: Scarborough, ON
Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital is a busy emergency and referral hospital that is currently looking for Animal Care Attendants to join our Referral Hospital. These full-time opportunities include a range of responsibilities that directly attributes to the efficient and effective daily operations of the hospital.
Duties include:
- Assist Doctors and RVTs with appointments & procedures, including surgery
- Patient care: walking, feeding, and assisting the RVTs with restraint for procedures (including IV catheter placement, radiographs and surgical procedures)
- Excellent customer service skills; a positive attitude and the ability for putting pets and pet parents at ease
- General housekeeping duties; pet holding areas, surgical suites/treatment areas, and common areas
- Willingness to learn and take on additional duties as needed
- Flexibility to work in various hospital departments as required
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to maintain our high standard of care for patients
- Ability to prioritize and having a team focus
- Animal handling experience
