The Opportunity Are you passionate about debunking myths, unraveling conspiracies, and educating the public about misinformation and disinformation? Join our team as a producer for Big [If True], an exciting studio-based television show! In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of producing content that sheds light on misinformation and disinformation, analyzing its impact on society. You’ll conduct in-depth research, write scripts, oversee edits, interview experts, and create engaging and informative segments. We are seeking a dedicated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to promoting truth and critical thinking.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Research, develop, write and collaborate on content.
  • Write and fact-check show scripts.
  • Direct interviews in studio or on location.
  • Direct the editing and mixing of audio and visual/graphic elements.
  • Generate story ideas, including suggestions for interviews and establishing contacts.
  • Select photos, graphics, video and audio; create interactive elements.
  • Develop a pool of reliable sources and contributors.
  • Coordinate with other departments/program contributors to ensure seamless execution of cross-department, multi-platform content.
  • Liaise with Media Research Team or others as appropriate to ensure proper and accurate clearance of all material used.
  • Actively manage TVO partnerships with outside stakeholders.

What You Will Bring To TVO

  • Exceptional writing, interviewing, and communication skills.
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in fact-checking and verifying sources.
  • Media literacy expertise and a deep understanding of misinformation and disinformation tactics.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • A deep-seated commitment to uncovering truth and exposing deception, coupled with a pursuit of journalistic integrity.
  • Experience in TV production and/or journalism.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency with digital tools and software used in research and production.
