About the role

Position Purpose and****Summary

The Outreach and Engagement Coordinator works as a part of the LLC staff team by overseeing recruitment and communications, community outreach, alumni and external partnership relations, and by supporting the LLC staff team, both as a whole and through assisting individual members. This position includes student-facing, alumni-facing and public-facing networking and communication.

Key Areas of Accountability

Recruitment Coordination

Recruitment:

  • Plan, lead and manage recruitment efforts and events on TWU’s Langley and Richmond campuses
  • Plan, lead and manage recruitment efforts at Chrisitan universities and through Christian clubs at public universities
  • Plan, lead and manage recruitment efforts at Ottawa area Christian schools
  • Lead the planning and organization of a TWU Preview Day at the LLC during the Fall semester (in cooperation with Enrolment Management and the Admissions Office)
  • Set up and host a promotional booth at various events in and around Ottawa to promote the LLC and TWU.

Program Applications:

  • Field potential student inquiries about the LLC program
  • Lead the application process, ensuring the LLC application portal is updated and managing all LLC applications on Salesforce
  • Join bi-weekly meetings of the Admissions Office for ongoing training and guidance (virtual attendance).

Communications:

  • Plan and manage the various LLC social media sites, in collaboration with LLC Executive Director and staff.
  • Assist in designing promotional materials in coordination with the LLC Executive Director and TWU Marketing and Communications Department as required.
  • Collaborate with the TWU Career Centre (CCCD), Admissions Office, Marketing and Communications Department and other departments on the main Trinity Western campus about LLC recruitment.
  • Supervise the LLC Student Recruiter on main campus to promote the LLC through class visits, information sessions, and other promotional means.

Community Outreach and Networking

  • Plan and organize a Christian formation event for young adults at the LLC in spring months (e.g., Apologetics Canada event, topical conference, urban spiritual retreat, etc.)
  • Foster relationships with local TWU/LLC alumni and develop ways of supporting their connections with Christian community in Ottawa and surrounding areas
  • Develop and consult with an alumni committee to plan networking events and encourage ongoing Christian fellowship and formation
  • Assist the ED in the development of various seminar series, a yearly lecture, a yearly colloquium, and other efforts to advance TWU’s mission, vision and strategic plan in Ottawa
  • Network with Ottawa area youth and young adult ministries to raise the profile of the LLC by serving youth people in and around Ottawa
  • Assist the ED in networking with and serving leaders in Ottawa area churches and ministries.

Supports to Other Staff

  • Support the Program Coordinator in the administration of conference and facility bookings and accommodation rentals at the LLC
  • Support Community Life Coordinator as they facilitate community life and student fellowship at the LLC
  • Assist the Facilities Coordinator as needs arise
  • Assist the Executive Director in the ongoing cultivation of field placement partnerships and the maintenance of various relationships and partnerships in the Capital Region.

  • Administrative office skills with accurate word processing and software skills (Outlook, Firefox, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Adobe).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide range of temperaments, personalities and nationalities.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Friendly, pleasant outlook in a busy and challenging environment.
  • Valid and in good standing driver’s license.
  • Ability to work under schedule, time and budget pressures.
  • Ability in both official languages an asset.

Standards & Requirements

Education: B.A. preferred. Knowledge of TWU structure preferred.

Experience: 1-2 years related experience is preferred. Well-developed administrative office skills.
