POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Analytics team at The Globe and Mail is looking for a Digital Analytics Implementation Analyst with strong fundamental skills in using tag managers (GTM) and custom tagging, Javascript, HTML, QA and data wrangling. This person will be responsible for owning and implementing analytics tracking, and consequently ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support various teams with regards to analytics implementation, including deploying 3rd party pixels, and defining analytics requirements.
- Ensure tracking is consistent, accurate, and useful for reporting on business KPIs.
- Manage analytics implementation documentation and current GTM properties.
- Become the subject matter expert for analytics implementation.
- Build and automate validation tests and reporting to facilitate internal data validation and improve QA efficiency.
- Assist in ensuring modelled data is accurate and reflective of business logic.
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Quantitatively focused bachelor’s degree preferred, with 3+ years of experience working with analytics implementation and QA.
- Experience with implementing analytics tracking on websites through Google Tag Manager or custom tracking (ex. Amplitude).
- Knowledge of JavaScript with understanding of various browser rendering engines and ability to troubleshoot code in various browsers.
- Testing experience including network debugging tools and HTTP Proxies.
- Strong communication skills and collaborative attitude.
- Proven ability to quickly and efficiently diagnose issues.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS and DOM.
- Knowledge of web analytics and inner workings of various web analytics tools (i.e. knowledge of beacons, data processing and enrichment).
- Proficient with writing SQL queries to analyze and manipulate data.
OPTIONAL BUT DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with Tableau and Amplitude.
- Experience with iOS and Android SDKs for mobile platform analytics deployment.
- Knowledge of version control systems, GIT preferred.
- Knowledge of Java/Kotlin or Swift/Objective C.
- Understanding of software quality assurance practice and test methodologies.
- Experience leveraging AI for efficiency around coding or data analysis.
