Grounds and Snow Removal Lead (Winter)

About the role

To maintain common area grounds, including snow removal, cutting grass, maintaining flowerbeds, pruning trees, sweeping and washing of walkways and roads. Must be available for full time year round work.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist Grounds Supervisor with supervision of staff
  • Complete Supervisor duties when supervisor is away.
  • Cutting lawns resort wide (common areas, hotel and property in general)
  • Ensure all litter is routinely picked up throughout the resort, transport waste bin from the various buildings, removing waste from all bins and collection areas and transporting this to our waste area.
  • Dead head of flowers and ensure beds are weed free
  • Clean up and prune trees
  • Clean up and weed walkways
  • Ensure snow removal during winter season
  • Power wash all walkways and roads.
  • Assist Village Amenities Staff in all aspects
  • Maintain a clean, crisp and professional appearance.
  • Be aware of the condition of grounds and any areas that need attention.
  • Have a good knowledge of the resort and any current events, activities or functions so that guests can be informed
  • Be friendly, outgoing and enjoy outside work

Experience/Requirements:

  • Secondary Education
  • WHIMS training
  • 1-2 yrs experience related to landscaping and snow removal duties
  • Lead or Supervisory experience
  • Able to operate and maintain Bobcat or other related equipment, mowers, gas powered hand tools and snow removal equipment
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Exceptional communication skills, commitment to support guest and employee experience
  • Knowledge of budgets, time line practices for completing projects and maintenance
  • Able to lift minimum of 50lbs
