Job Title: SQL Server DBA
Location: Montreal, QC, Canada (Onsite)
Type: Long-Term Contract
Experience Required: 8–10 years (preferably in financial services)
Work Hours: Includes shift support (24/7 environment)
Job Description:
🔹 Primary Objective:
To provide design, implementation, performance tuning, and operational support for Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016–2022) , including Azure integration and high availability in a financial services environment .
🧷 Mandatory Technical Skills:
- SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 (core DBA tasks)
- Performance tuning (queries, jobs, baselines)
- Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
- SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
- SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
- SQL Clustering / High Availability (HA/DR: Log Shipping, Mirroring, Replication)
- Backup/Restore strategies
- Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
- PowerShell scripting
- Azure cloud knowledge
☁️ Cloud & Infrastructure Exposure:
- Azure SQL
- Hybrid/Cloud support models
- Familiarity with infrastructure teams (network, Windows engineering).
🧑💼 Nice to Have:
- Financial services industry background
- Experience in regulated environments (audits, access control, etc.)
