About The Role. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Director will effectively lead and manage the financial strategy, operations, and transformation initiatives for McCain Produce. This senior leadership role is accountable for shaping financial policy, driving business growth, ensuring compliance, and serving as a key advisor to the executive team.
What You’ll Be Doing.
- Lead the development and execution of financial strategies that drive business performance and long-term sustainability.
- Drive enterprise-level financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, scenario modeling, and capital allocation.
- Implement robust financial controls, compliance frameworks, and risk management processes across all business functions.
- Develop and lead cross-functional transformation initiatives, such as ERP system enhancements, process automation, and digital finance projects.
- Design and develop new programs and tools to support business growth, operational efficiency, and financial transparency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), financial analysis, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage multiple vendors, including external auditors, financial institutions, and consulting partners, ensuring value delivery and alignment with business objectives.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, multi-site financial projects on time and within budget.
- Change Management: Effectively lead organizational change, engaging multiple stakeholders and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Facilitation Skills: Facilitate executive-level discussions, translating financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and represent McCain Produce in external forums.
- 7+ years’ experience in finance and accounting with a focus on financial leadership, strategy, and transformation.
- Broad and complete understanding of financial management, including cash flow, forecasting, risk management, and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Proven experience leading high-performing teams across multiple locations and functions.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated expertise in project and change management, delivering large-scale initiatives in dynamic environments.
- Advanced technical proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (such as Business Central), and financial reporting tools (e.g., OneStream).
- Independent and tactical, with a proven ability to build professional relationships and work collaboratively.
- Works well under pressure, adapts to change, and thrives in ambiguous situations.
- Demonstrated data analytics capabilities with the ability to generate insights, evaluate alternatives, and make strategic recommendations.

Compensation Package : $146,200.00
$195,000.00 CAD annually + bonus eligibility + Long Term Incentive eligibility The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting.
