We are Parallel 49 Brewing Company, a craft brewery based in the heart of East Vancouver. We were founded in 2012 by passionate craft beer enthusiasts and have quickly become a staple in the Canadian craft beer scene. Servers at Parallel 49 Brewing Company are responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring the satisfaction of our guests, and maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere in the tasting room. You will be the expert on all of our brews and guide guests to the right beer choice. Servers will be scheduled to work in the Street Kitchen or in the Retail store.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional guest service to guests in the Street Kitchen and retail store
- Set up restaurant for service, following opening and closing checklists
- Take guest orders, assign table numbers for food
- Build knowledge of all Parallel 49 Brewing Company beers on tap and guide guests' beer choices
- Handle customer transactions and gift card payments
- Serve food and beverages to guests
- Return dirty dishes to the bus bins and dirty glassware to the dishwasher
- Adhere to brewery policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation guidelines
- Clean and maintain and sanitation of work area throughout the day
- Maintain a professional and positive demeanor, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
- Assist with keg organization and changing 50L kegs
- Record beer waste
- Restock food pass and other supplies
- Refill soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels and maintain cleanliness of supply areas
- Clear and clean tables, bar tops, and chairs
- Complete extra cleaning duties during slow periods
- Take out garbage, recycling, and organic waste as needed
- Other reasonable duties as needed
Beer Store Specific Duties
- Keep fridges and shelves faced and stocked
- Monitor fridge temperatures and keep them clean
- Organize and put away pack orders
- Ensure proper rotation of packaged products by date
- Update iPad for out-of-stock or new items
- Fill and process Uber Eats and Skip The Dishes orders
- Handle keg rentals and returns, including payments and paperwork
- Answer phone calls and provide assistance to guests
- Restock bags and pak-tech rings
- Document damaged packs and take to warehouse at end of shift
- Take out garbage and cardboard as needed
Qualifications
- Must be of legal drinking age and have a valid serving it right certificate
- Strong communication and and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, move/walk consistently throughout your shift and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holiday
- Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or taproom setting is preferred
- Knowledge of different beer styles and the brewing process is an asset
