What you will do:
- Oversees and executes full-cycle payroll processing within Workday, ensuring accurate and timely execution to 3000 Canadian associates in compliance with company policies and Federal and Provincial legislation regulations.
- Prepares remittances for third party deductions, withholding taxes and employer payroll taxes as required
- Processes and verifies Records of Employment for terminated employees
- Assisting with government reporting or online filings, such as CRA, Statistics Canada, Service Canada, Revenue Quebec
- Prepare and process year-end tax forms and adjustments (T4s, T4As, and Relevé 1s)
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports, and support operations with reporting and reconciliations as required
- Ensure SOX compliance by completing all audits and required documentation in a timely manner
- Develops and maintains internal documentation and SOPs related to payroll function
- Strong capability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and handle various projects simultaneously across business lines.
- Reviews and resolves payroll discrepancies and/or employee questions timely and accurately
What you will bring:
- Undergraduate degree in a Business/Human Resources or other relevant field
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is required
- A minimum of 5 years full-cycle payroll processing experience in multiple provinces for hourly and salaried employees.
- Excellent understanding of Canadian payroll legislation.
- Proficient with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Retail and/or Warehouse payroll and timekeeping experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with employees and all levels of management.
- Must be able to work independently during critical times.
- Bilingual (French/English) a plus.
