Our Ideal Candidate
Allnorth is currently seeking a Material Coordinator to support our industrial E&I construction team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the flow of materials to field crews, ensuring uninterrupted construction execution through proactive planning, close collaboration with foremen, and diligent oversight of procurement and receiving activities..
Key Details:
- Shift: Various rotations; various shifts
- Location: Southern Regina, Northern BC
- Travel & Camp: Provided for non-local residents Type: Full-time, project-based
A Day in the Life
- Collaborate with site Foremen to review 3-week lookahead schedules and confirm upcoming scopes of work
- Perform material takeoffs from drawings, considering available site inventory to avoid over-ordering
- Create detailed material requisitions and distribute to pre-qualified vendors for pricing
- Evaluate vendor quotes for cost, delivery, and compliance, then prepare purchase requests for approval
- Track purchase orders, update material logs, and expedite orders as required
- Receive materials onsite, verify packing slips, address discrepancies, and update inventory systems
- Maintain continuous communication with site supervisors, vendors, and head office to resolve material-related issues Provide weekly reporting on material status, inventory, and outstanding orders
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Experience in material coordination or procurement in an industrial construction environment (E&I focus preferred)
- Familiarity with electrical and instrumentation materials (e.g., cable, conduit, panels, instrumentation)
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and material specifications
- Strong organization and planning skills with a proactive mindset
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with BST or other procurement systems is an asset
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities to support dynamic field execution teams Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment
