Job Summary
As Manager, Client Accounting & Advisory, you’ll oversee the month-end accounting function, review client deliverables, manage junior staff, and serve as a key contact for clients. You’ll also support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic insights alongside our CFO team. This role is ideal for a CPA-designated professional with strong cloud accounting skills and a passion for startups and advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
• Own and oversee the month-end close process for multiple clients, including journal entry review, reconciliations, and financial package preparation.
• Manage and review the work of junior team members and bookkeepers (onshore and offshore).
• Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models.
• Lead process improvements, internal controls, and documentation efforts for accounting operations.
• Provide high-touch client support, helping founders interpret financial results and optimize business performance.
• Implement and optimize cloud-based accounting tech stacks (QBO, Dext, Plooto, Wagepoint, etc.).
• Contribute to internal training, performance reviews, and knowledge-sharing across the team.
• Assist with proposals, pitches, and promoting KAI through digital and networking efforts.
Qualifications
• CPA designation (or near completion) in good standing.
• 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, (public practice or outsourced finance experience is an asset).
• Experience managing monthly closes, financial reporting, and client communications.
• Strong technical proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, and modern finance tools.
• Financial modeling experience and Excel proficiency are strong assets.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients.
• Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Interest in startups, technology, and building scalable financial operations.
Compensation & Benefits
• Base salary: $85,000–$105,000 depending on experience
• Annual bonus based on individual and firm performance
• Commission on business development
• CPA dues, professional development, and tech allowance covered
• Remote work environment with occasional in-person training (3-4 times per month)
• Ongoing mentorship with senior CFOs and opportunities for advancement into senior finance and advisory roles

His exceptional talent is in building 3-statement, multi-year, monthly financial models and KPIs for the purposes of capital raising, investor and lender due diligence, and preparing management for the next level.
