About the Opportunity
Tax Operations – External
- Prepare and file NNCI’s Canadian Federal and Provincial Income Tax Returns, including T106 forms, NR4s, T4ANRs, T661 SR&ED claims, and other required forms and elections.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to improve business insight and ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Draft responses to Federal and Provincial tax audit inquiries and review Regulation 105/102 withholding requirements for services rendered to NNCI.
- Support the preparation of Notices of Objection, where applicable, and assist with tax filings for other Canadian entities.
- Complete and submit Excise Tax Returns as necessary.
Tax Operations – Internal
- Prepare annual and interim tax provisions and forecasts for NNCI, accurately calculating both current and deferred tax balances.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of tax sections in the Annual Questionnaire submitted to headquarters.
- Manage return-to-accrual adjustments, monthly corporate tax estimates, and tax account reconciliations.
- Maintain robust internal controls over tax-related processes and ensure tax ledger entries are accurately recorded in the ERP.
- Contribute to realizing benefits from an ongoing ERP implementation and support the Director with business development initiatives.
Tax Incentives
- Prepare documentation to support SR&ED claims and manage timely filing of Canadian Federal and Provincial tax incentives.
- Partner with Clinical Operations to ensure compliance with CRA guidelines and prepare annual PMPRB reporting calculations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all tax credits and incentive claims and provide support during audits focused on incentive programs.
Other Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal tax-related queries and assist the Tax Director in improving processes aligned with the finance digital transformation agenda.
- Support tasks related to Transfer Pricing and Indirect Tax, and contribute to various ad hoc projects as needed.
- Research emerging tax issues, offering insights and recommendations for resolution.
- Continually assess current processes, propose enhancements, and support the implementation of the broader tax strategy.
About You
- CPA Designation
- Min 5-7 years of Canadian Corporate Tax experience
- Strong technical knowledge of complex tax issues
Salary Range
$120,000 - $145,000/year
