Job Description
The ideal candidate is an experienced Executive Chef ready to lead our culinary operations for the students and faculty of Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, PQ.
As Culinary Manager, you will oversee all kitchen functions, including meal production and catering services, ensuring exceptional quality, service excellence and complete client satisfaction. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone passionate about food, team development, and delivering a standout campus dining experience
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise, organize, cook and manage the entire meal production process
- Supervise and coordinate the kitchen and service team, fostering teamwork and a collaborative atmosphere
- Be able to respond to operational needs
- Ensure high quality food services and customer satisfaction
- Optimize food and labor costs
- Implement various marketing plans
- Develop and enforce job descriptions
- Place orders
- Ensure application of management, health, hygiene and food safety programs
- Take monthly inventory
- Manage customer relations
Qualifications
- 4 to 5 years experience in a high-volume food service or restaurant environment
- Bilingualism in French/English is an asset
- Knowledge of MS Office suite
- Excellent leadership skills
- Demonstrate rigor and method in daily work.
- Certificate in hygiene and sanitation from MAPAQ
- Diploma in food service management/dietary technology/DEP in institutional cooking
