About Providence Living

Hospitals and Health Care
501-1000

Providence Living is an independent non-profit organization established by Providence Health Care and St. Joseph’s General Hospital in 2017. It aspires to be a leader in the provision of long-term care, housing, and other services for seniors in British Columbia, Canada, and beyond.

Providence Living is a faith-based organization with its own board and management structure, focusing on rethinking and redefining the experience of seniors in long-term care by creating environments where residents are supported to maintain their independence, social connections, and their desired and purposeful personal routines.

Providence Living values are rooted in the values, history and tradition of our Founding Sisters who arrived in British Columbia more than 130 years ago and established numerous Catholic hospitals and care homes.

At Providence Living, we create space for the individuality, joy and spontaneity that make life rich and fulfilling. We innovate, challenge conventions, and most of all listen long and hard to the real experts: the people living in our care communities and their families.

Providence Living currently operates long-term care homes at Central City Lodge and Cooper Place in Vancouver, and The Views at St. Joseph’s in Comox. This summer, it will open Providence Living at The Views in Comox, which will replace The Views at St. Joseph’s.

Providence Living is also set to build and operate a 200-bed long-term care village in Prince George in partnership with Northern Health.
