What you’ll do (the highlights)

As a Direct Support Professional, you will be part of a team and the go-to person for the people living in this community home. This home is a charming bungalow in the peaceful Crestview neighbourhood. The ladies in the home love watching movies, going for walks, shopping, arts & crafts, and various recreation activities put on by DASCH.

What that looks like:

  • Receiving support and guidance from your location supervisor.
  • Making sure the environment is clean, safe, and comfortable.
  • Providing personal hygiene, grocery shopping, housekeeping, meal preparation and socialization.
  • Organizing the day and keeping accurate records are essential duties.
  • Encouraging and supporting people at DASCH to engage in community activities based on their likes and abilities.
  • Advocating for people at DASCH when needed, keeping their best interests in mind..
  • Being a role model to people living at DASCH as you support their independence with respect and care

What you bring (and why you’ll thrive here)

Your qualifications:

  • Completed Grade 10 in Canada, or you have achieved Level 6 on the Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment.
  • A Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License (Intermediate Stage acceptable)
  • Have a smart device with internet access.
  • Experience with intellectual disabilities or a certificate in Disability and Community Support, Health Care Aide, or a related field is helpful.
  • Background in health care is an asset.

Pay + perks (how we support you)

  • Salary: $18.40 - $20.00 per hour, depending on your experience and education.

Schedule:

  • Part-Time.
