Full Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organized Dispatch Coordinator (Day or Afternoon Shift) to join our team at our Brampton, Ontario office. This role is responsible for coordinating and dispatching daily freight deliveries across North America, as well as pre-planning future loads to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and dispatch daily pickups and deliveries across North America.
- Proactively communicate with drivers to ensure efficient planning and execution of routes.
- Verify availability of drivers, trucks, and trailers to meet daily operational requirements.
- Accurately record all relevant delivery and pickup information in the system.
- Maintain professional, respectful, and fair communication with drivers at all times.
- Adapt to last-minute changes in customer requests, including rerouting or rescheduling trips.
- Update plans to accommodate unforeseen issues and changes in real time.
- Notify customers promptly of any delays, issues, or changes affecting their deliveries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and General Manager.
- Be available to work limited hours on weekends, as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience in logistics and customer service is required.
- Strong data entry, organization, and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle for commuting.
- Availability to work Saturday or Sunday, if required.
