Position Overview On behalf of our client, a leader in the industrial components industry (Manufacturer), we are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative to join their team. This role will be focused on selling industrial products to the Oil and Gas industry in the Fort McMurray region - calling on end users to create pull through demand through their distribution partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial product sales, particularly within the Energy/Oil and Gas sector, and possess the technical acumen necessary to effectively communicate product benefits and applications to end-user customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mine for new sales opportunities within existing clients and accounts, and support the sales efforts of distribution partners in Northern Alberta
  • Identify new sales opportunities and drive the sales process from prospecting to closing.
  • Provide technical expertise and product knowledge to clients, ensuring they receive the best solutions for their operational needs.
  • Conduct product education and training sessions for end-user customers, as well as local distributors.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform sales strategies.
  • Manage sales forecasts and reports, tracking progress against targets.
  • Overnight travel of up to 20% (Edmonton and Calgary) to meet clients and attend industry events.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in outside sales, inside sales, or project management, preferably within the industrial Oil and Gas market.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and communicate complex product information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
